AI Job Assistant Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-23

AI Job Assistant is a Chrome extension for individual job seekers. It helps users collect job posting information, manage local resume copies, generate job-fit suggestions, prepare greeting drafts, and track application progress when users take explicit actions. This policy explains what data the extension may process, where the data is stored, and when data may be shared with third-party AI providers.

1. Data We Process

2. Data Sources

3. Where Data Is Stored

Job data, analysis results, resume copies, application records, and most settings are stored locally in the user's browser using IndexedDB. The extension does not automatically sync this data to a developer-operated server.

4. When Data May Be Shared

Only when a user voluntarily configures an AI API key and triggers job analysis or resume optimization will the extension send the minimum required job information, resume content, and skill tags to the AI provider selected by the user, such as DeepSeek, OpenAI, or Anthropic. Data handling rules, model behavior, and usage costs are determined by the provider selected by the user.

5. What We Do Not Do

6. User Control and Deletion

Users can clear local cached data from the Side Panel or the Options page. Clearing cached data removes jobs, analysis results, application records, and resume copies. If users want to remove all local data, they can also uninstall the extension and clear extension data from the browser.

7. Data Security

The extension is designed to keep most data local and minimize unnecessary transmission. However, local devices, browser accounts, and third-party AI services may each carry their own risks. Users should use the extension only on trusted devices and protect their own AI API keys appropriately.

8. Scope and Updates

This policy applies to the current version of the AI Job Assistant Chrome extension. If the way the extension processes data changes materially, we will update this policy and the privacy disclosures provided in the Chrome Web Store.
